Body Farm started with the simple goal of trying to play as fast as possible. Their first lineup with members Ocean, Erek, Alex, and Steven met on vocals, guitar, bass, and drums to produce two 7” releases, a split and an EP. Body Farm continued their devoted output and performance schedule, recording demos on lathe cuts and tapes that would become a 12” EP called Living Hell. After touring for Living Hell, Ocean and Erek moved to Pittsburgh, splitting the band’s location with Columbus. With 2023 marking Body Farm’s first show as partial PA residents, 2024 would bring new bassist, Darrell. Vocally, Ocean draws on X-Ray Spex, Plasmatics, and Alice Bag, providing a reverb drenched holler that effectively is their calling card. There is a specificity in Body Farm’s songs that sets them apart from their peers, and you hear it as soon as you press play.

Crystal clear, precise guitar leads call to mind the surf-informed stylings of Dead Kennedys, while unrelenting blasts evoke the proto-grindcore of Siege. With eight releases, several US tours, and an Australian tour under their belt since 2017, the band has spent 5 incredibly productive years honing their razor sharp brand of political fastcore.”
